"All of the testing is back and ther were no harmful pathogens," said spokesman Lt Kraig Gray. Gray said "no comment" when asked what the substance was that was found in the envelope left on a counter in the GIS section of the town hall Information Technology Department on the ground floor about 4 p.m., April 26.

Gray said he could not comment about the "open investigation" that's being conducted by local, state and federal agencies.

The town hall, located at 101 Field Point Rd., is the backdrop for dozens of municipal and private agency meetings. Unlike other area municipal buildings, Greenwich does not have a central check-in point at the main entrance.

While the IT and GIS offices were closed in the wake of the April 26 incident, employees were able to telecommute and those operations continued uninterrupted. However, the public was unable to access the GIS office which was, until May 1, taped off and inaccessable to the public.
