Balin of Greenwich Aces PGA Cup Exam

Balin, an assistant pro at Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, had a hole-in-one during the PGA Cup in California on Saturday.

Greenwich resident Danny Balin, an assistant golf pro at Burning Tree Country Club, recorded a hole-in-one in the PGA Cup in San Martin, California on Saturday.

Representing the United States in a Four-Ball session of the tournament, Balin used a 7-iron on the par-3, 183-yard hole. It was the second hole-in-one in Balin's career and is believed to be only the second one in the 25-year history of the PGA Cup.

Balin is a a 29-year old Maryland native who played college golf at Penn State.

The PGA Cup concludes Sunday with 10 singles matches that begin at 9:30 a.m. PDT.
