Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival - at Boscobel - Hamlet

  • When: Friday July 1 Preview and Saturday July 2 Opening Night both at 8:00 pm.
  • Why Go: Hamlet by William Shakespeare and directed by Terrence O'Brien. The Prince of Denmark  takes to  the bank of the Hudson River under the direction of founding artistic director Terry O'Brien.  Hamlet's tale of revenge is renowned for its exquisite poetry and spellbinding plot.  Revenge, madness and murder abound in this psychological thriller.

Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation - Fourth of July Fireworks - Greenwich Point and Binney Park

  • When: Saturday July 2 (Rain date Sunday July 3); 6:00 pm picnic and fireworks at sundown at both locations.
  • Why Go: What's the 4th of July without fireworks?
  • Pricing: Free, however beach cards and parking stickers are required to access Greenwich Point, which will be closed to vehicular traffic at 8:30 pm.

Schooner SoundWaters Sails - SoundWaters - Brewer Yacht Haven Marina - 41 Bateman Way, Stamford CT.

  • When: Fireworks Sail on Saturday, July 2 from 7:30 - 11:00 pm; Afternoon Sail on Sunday July 3 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and a Sunset Sail on Sunday July 3 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
  • Why Go: Come sailing during several sails this coming weekend! Afternoon Sails - Great for Families! Help hoist the sails and discover what inhabits the underwater wonderland of the Sound. The Independence Day Association and The Daughters of the American Revolution, front steps of Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Rd., Greenwich.

When: 9 a.m., Monday, July 4.

Why go: The Independence Day Association was created to reinforce the patriotic meaning of the Fourth of July, promoting the historical significance of the holiday in the minds of the children of Greenwich.The Daughters of the American Revolution have been joined in this effort by the Sons of the American Revolution, the Children of the American Revolution, the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, children attending public and independent schools, and local Boy Scout and Girl Scout and Explorer Troops. Each year, we gather on the steps of Town Hall to raise the first American flag, parade the flags of the original 13 colonies, read passages from the Declaration of Independence, honor the Greenwich citizens who fought and died in the Revolutionary War, and present Good Citizen Awards to deserving students.
