Greenwich Landlord Charged in Dispute with Tenants

Greenwich Police: Tenants' electricity was shut off.

The landlord of a Den Lane residence was arrested by Greenwich Police over the weekend on charges he shut off the power to his tenants' apartment in an attempt to get them to move out, according to police.

James Drufovka, 41, of 493 Den Rd., Greenwich, was arrested on charges of interfering with police and violation of home health requirements in connection with the April 7 incident at his home.

Three tenants complained to police that Drufovka shut off their electricity and refused officers' orders to leave the tenants' apartment, according to a police report. The report did not indicate why Drufovka wanted the tenants to leave.

Drufovka was unable to post $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear April 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
