Greenwich Woman, Stamford Man Face Narcotics Charges

Greenwich Police reports for Sept. 10-11

A Greenwich woman and Stamford man were arrested and each charged with possession of narcotics on Monday, Sept. 10, after they were seen by police sitting in a parked vehicle.

Police said an officer on patrol on Gerry Street saw two people sitting a parked  gray Acura TSX at about 8:30 p.m. Police said when the officer approached the vehicle he could detect a strong odor of marijuana.

Police said Lauren A. Bria, 27, of Gerry Street, one of the two people in the car, was found to be in possession of two wax folds with a brown powder like substance that later tested positive for heroin. She was also in possession of a cut red straw with brown powdery residue, police said.

In addition a passenger, Jeffrey A. Saunders, 29, of Stamford, was also found to be in possession of two wax folds containing a brown powdery substance that later tested positive for heroin. Police said Saunders also had six Xanax pills on his person.

Police said a search of the vehicle revealed a "10 pack" of wax folds, each containing heroin, in the car's center console.

During the arrest police learned that Saunders had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court in connection with an incident that occurred in Darien. He was additionally charged with failure to appear in court.

Saunders posted a $250 bond for the drug charges and a $1,000 bond for the failure to appear charge. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.

Bria posted a $250 bond and is also scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.

A 52-year-old Greenwich man was arrested and charged with risk of injury to a minor, interfering with a police officer and disorderly conduct following a domestic incident that occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at an Ann Street residence.

Police said they were called to the residence at about 9:09 p.m. on a report of domestic disturbance. An investigation revealed that the man was drunk and had gotten into an argument with family members. Police said the incident escalated and the man struck a juvenile family member and twisted his thumb causing minor pain.

Police said the man resisted arrest. He was reportedly taken to Greenwich Hospital for observation and possible treatment. He was then released back into police custody.

Police said the man was unable to post a $2,500 bond.

An 18-year-old female Greenwich resident was issued a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace following a domestic incident that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Police said they were called to the a Seitz Lane residence on a report of a disturbance at about 5:53 p.m. On arrival officers learned that there had been a fight between a mother and her daughter.

Police said the disturbance was reported by several neighbors.

The teen was scheduled to appear in court the next day.
