The Greenwich High School graduation is just two days away. And to help gear up for it, the Greenwich Scholarship Association held its 40th awards ceremony last Thursday.
More than $450,000 in scholarships were awarded to 126 students in the ceremony held at GHS. Congratulations to all!

They're heading for the US service academies
Also on Thursday, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-4) met with a dozen students from across the Fourth District whom he successfully nominated to attend one of the U.S. military service academies this fall. The students—including three from Greenwich—and their families joined Himes for dinner at the Westport VFW and had the chance to network with their peers and local veterans.
The three Greenwich students are Susan Eileen Wissmann and Jane Carol Wissman, both of Riverside, who will be attending the U.S. Naval Academy, and Julian Callanan Barker of Cos Cob, who will attend West Point.
Greenwich Arts Council Awards Creative Achievement
Creative Achievement Awards were presented to six high school juniors in Greenwich schools during a Greenwich Arts Council recent program and reception.
The annual awards are given to students nominated by their teachers for “exceptional artistic ability and creative vision.” The 2012 winners include Zack Dobryn, Greenwich High School, for technical stage production; James Yoon, Greenwich High School, for music; Damian Orellana, Greenwich High School, for visual arts; Ali Coopersmith, Brunswick School, for music; Cuyler Hedlund, Greenwich Academy, for visual arts; Nicole Zoulis, Convent of the Sacred Heart, for musical and dramatic performance.
