It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year … on the Ave!
January sales offer a post-holiday respite.
I know, it’s a holiday saying, but in the world of Greenwich Avenue, right now, is indeed one of the most wonderful times of the year: sale time.
Every year, as soon as the holiday mad-dash is over and people have spent top dollar for their gifts, just about everything goes on sale. (Don’t even get me started on what that does to the value of your returns.) Gone are the storefront’s twinkling lights and nutcracker displays and in its place are glaring, mostly red and white, sale signs. Sometimes I’m hard pressed to say which I prefer. Despite the loss of holiday cheer, the mostly, Ave-wide sales do make January a little less brutal.
Richard's, one of Greenwich’s most popular retail bastions, clearly agrees. Their windows advertise their sale with the tagline, “The perfect cure for post holiday blues.” Strolling the Avenue today is perhaps one of the few times of the year a bargain-minded shopper actually can make a purchase in some of the stores. So, bargain hunters here you are, a categorized cheat-sheet to the Avenue storewide sales, highlighting those that are really worth the parking space fight.
As always, please feel free to add your comments and suggestions!
