Old Greenwich Suspicious Vehicle Case Closed

Greenwich Police: Motorist was a parent looking for his own child.

 

Greenwich Police say they've resolved involving a report of a man trying to lure a young boy into his vehicle.

Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said in a statement, "It was a local resident in the area looking for his own child." According to Gray, on Thursday evening, "An off-duty Greenwich police officer located the vehicle and was able to interview and investigate the circumstances. ... Everything was corroborated."

On April 7, police issued a warning after a boy playing with four other middle school aged boys in the yard when, at about 5 p.m., he was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle who told him that he was there to pick him up and drive him home. The boy did not get into the vehicle and the man left the area.

Gray added, "There were no violations, not threats, a simple misunderstanding. Case closed."
