Looking for a great spot to take your date on Saturday night? Some of the best eateries and activities are just around the corner. Here are a few of our favorites:
Barcelona Wine Bar (18 W. Putnam Ave., Greenwich; 283-903-6400): If your date likes adventure and fun, Spanish joint Barcelona fits the bill. From sangria to hot and cold tapas, everything here is made to share in this festively decorated couples hotspot.
Tengda (21 Field Point Rd., Greenwich; 203-625-5338): Tuck into Tengda’s homey exterior for a low-key, intimate atmosphere and a filling meal that’s perfect for sharing. Fresh fish rolls here are bigger than they are at your average sushi joint; Tengda also offers Thai-inspired apps (such as chicken satay) and mains (curry seafood hot pots) if your date isn’t a sushi fan.
Binney Park (Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich): Looking for an inexpensive date idea? Head to this idyllic nature haven in Old Greenwich for a stroll or a picnic. Though closings at dusk means less likelihood your date night will begin here, the park is perfect for summer and fall dates, when the sun lingers just a little longer.
Thataway Cafe (409 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich; 203-622-0947): Great food, great drinks and live music make for a great night on the town. This cafe, nestled in the heart of Greenwich Avenue, offers locals all three. It’s also a great place to pick up a potential date.
Bridgeport Bluefish (The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, 600 Main St., Bridgeport): Nothing’s better than baseball in the warmer months, but you don’t need to hop a Metro North train into the city for a good game. Think local and head to Bridgeport to see the Bluefish take on another the competition. Then, relax with your date, knowing you don’t have a 45-minute ride home.
Dorothy Hamill Ice Skating Rink (14 Sherman Ave., Greenwich; 203-531-8560): Cooler weather means more time indoors, and this rink, open from mid-September to mid-March, is a great spot to skate with your sweetie while enjoying some exercise.
