Welcome to Visions for Vacancies, a weekly interactive feature that profiles vacant lots and commercial spaces. Greenwich Patch account-holders can weigh in on what they'd like to see in these spaces. You can be creative and — pardon the pun — think outside of the box.

This 2-story free-standing building at 40 E. Elm St., is located at the corner of East Elm and Mason streets. Until a couple months ago, the home furnishings emporium Pierre Deux occupied the space which does have on-site parking — a rarity for downtown Greenwich.

What would you like to see move into this space? A shop? What kind of shop? Perhaps a restaurant or a salon? Tell us in the comments.

How about Meli-Mello II to replace Pierre Deux. Or a reincarnation of Thataway.

Well I think we have bank shortage in Greenwich, can we put in a convenient bank branch there?

I agree Leslie, have you tried either of the new divisions -- traiteur (gourmet on-the-go) and patisserie (artisan pastries)

Actually I was kidding, but since you mentioned it, I checked out the Traiteur just now. Sounds great! We're so lucky to have them in Greenwich!
