More About Greenwich Library
Some form of a book-lending institution has existed in various locations throughout Greenwich since the early 1800s, but it wasn't until 1960 that the Main Greenwich Library, one of three branches that comprise the Greenwich Library System, moved to its present location on West Putnam Avenue. The library offers patrons more than 1,000 programs every year. Collections cater to patrons of all ages and are available in multiple languages. The library's Technology Training Center offers hands-on programs for beginners and advanced users. Elton's Café, on the lower level, is open for breakfast, lunch and snacks. The library's meeting room seats 25 comfortably (80 max) and is available for free use by Greenwich nonprofit clubs and organizations. Reservations are required.
