Glenn Wolff of Wolff Psychotherapy has announced the development of two brand new social skills groups for boys between the ages of 8-10 and boys 11 to 13. The Social Skills Groups cover an abundance of symptoms and problems typical for boys during these specific stages in their life. The newly formed groups are developed to offer nurturing and effective guidance for boys with all kind of problems. It promises to help young boys with issues that range from ADHD, Asperger’s Disorder and behavior problems to impulsivity and even social anxiety.
Many children have difficulties making and keeping friendships because of inappropriate social skills. This can result in anger outbursts, impulsivity or even aggressiveness. Glenn’s groups provide boys an opportunity to improve friendship skills in a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
Through a highly structured set of lessons, boys are taught specific skills in a step by step approach. The children are given the tools to overcome their social deficiencies and learn to overcome their emotional impairment. Role playing allows opportunity for practice of the skills during group.
Glenn Wolff stated recently: “Group therapy is the preferred method for treating boys with social skills problems. Group therapy allows me to see what the child cannot tell me and what I cannot observe in individual therapy...exactly how the child behaves socially with his peers.”
Glenn Wolff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy and counseling to children, adolescents, and adults. Glenn has expertise treating pre-adolescent and adolescent boys individually and in group.
