The Tri-State Trek is a 270 mile bike ride from Boston to New York. We raise money and awareness for ALS and in order to have a successful event we need as many volunteers as possible. We are looking for local volunteers to come out to start line, overnight locations, and finish line locations July 20-22, 2012. For more information please visit www.tristatetrek.com or contact Dave at DVirden@als.net.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a neurodegenerative disorder that paralyzes the body but leaves the mind intact. Patients on average live between two to five years. There is no cure or effective therapy.
We ride to change that; and we proudly support the efforts of the world’s leading ALS research facility, the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
A bicycle ride from Boston to New York, the Tri-State Trek takes cyclists through the most scenic and challenging terrain in the Northeast. United by the understanding that we all have the power to affect change, cyclists and volunteers challenge themselves in the hope for an effective therapy.
There are no requirements to volunteer for this ride. We want anyone with a good attitude to help us fight this devastating disease.
In order for the Trek to be a success, we need your help; and we greatly appreciate everything you do for us as volunteers!
