Walk in the Park for Abilis

[Editor's Note: This announcement was originally published on Oct. 20.]

The Abilis Walk at Greenwich Point this Sunday (Oct. 23rd) is loaded with new features and even more kid-oriented, family friendly fun! Action gets under way at 10:30, with a one-mile walk, roll or stroll starting from the clambake area at noon.

Proceeds support Abilis, a nonprofit founded in 1951, and people of all ages with autism, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.

Get an Abilis commemorative pin, assembled by fifth-graders at Glenville Elementary School. Those donating $50 or more receive a special-edition 60th anniversary Abilis Tshirt.

Visit our sales tent for a preview of what you'll find at the new Abilis gift shop, scheduled to open in Glenville in 2012. All items are hand made by the Abilis Artisans — adults with developmental disabilities.

* Sumptuous organic soaps!

* The 2011 Abilis notecard collection!

* All-natural dog treats for your favorite pooch!

* Funky tie-dyed tees and reusable canvas bags!

* One-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets and barrettes!

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
