YMCA of Greenwich Marlins Dive Team Reaches New Heights At Nationals

 

The YMCA of Greenwich Marlins Dive Team recently returned from the 2012 USA Diving National Diving Championships in Greensboro, NC.  Of the 54 teams that went to the Nationals, the YMCA of Greenwich placed 9th in the country. 

Dylan Korn, coach of the Marlins Dive Team, commented: “We are very proud of our entire squad. They are young, but they train hard and have a lot of fun. This meet is comprised of the best divers in the country.  We brought eleven divers to North Carolina and they all did great. We placed 9th overall out of 54 teams.  Our divers should all be very proud.” 


In additional to placing 9th in the country there were three standout divers: 

James Hopper placed 2nd on 3 meter, 3rd on Platform and 7the on 1 meter
Carolina Sculti placed 5th on 3 meter, 6th on 1 meter and 9th on platform
Elizabeth Fitzpatrick placed 6th in the 3m synchronized diving, 5th on the 1 meter and 11th on 3 meter.  

Korn continued: “James, Elizabeth and Caroline had standout performances.  These three will go far in their diving careers.”
