Celebrating Hope 2013

The Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter is thrilled to announce their inaugural event Celebrating Hope 2013. In a town that is no stranger to luncheons and galas, this event marks the first-ever benefit in Greenwich for Alzheimer’s disease. “We are excited to be partnering with a team of 22 dedicated and passionate local residents to raise awareness for such an important cause. In Connecticut, there are more than 70,000 people living with the disease and 175,000 caregivers. The time to act is now,” stated the Alzheimer’s CT Chapter Executive Director, Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh. Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death and the only disease that cannot be prevented or cured and death rates have increased +68% between 2000 and 2010. Every 68 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s. The ticket price, $168, is designed to highlight the breadth of the disease. The event will be held at Richards, 359 Greenwich Avenue Greenwich CT on Friday June 7, 2013 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. The evening will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a premium silent auction, the music of celebrity entertainer DJ Kunjan and the up-close magic of renowned conjurer Ryan Oakes. Proceeds will support the Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter’s local programs, services and research. Cristin Marandino, Editor of Greenwich Magazine and Executive Editor of Moffly Media’s five town publications, is chairing the event and working with a passionate group of committee members from Greenwich and surrounding Fairfield County towns. Special thanks to event sponsors: Barbara Zaccagnini, Boots Retail USA Inc, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Connecticut Pharmacy, The Cos Cobber Restaurant, Deutsche Bank, Edgehill, Food Design, Grafix Traffic, Granoff Architects, The Greens at Greenwich, Gway Printing & Graphics, Ivy, Barnum & O’Mara, Kathleen Digiovanna, Kunjan of Kunjan Collective, Maplewood Senior Living, Moffly Media, Peridot Fine Jewelry, Richards, Ryan Oakes Conjurer, Serenity Beauty & Spa and Winston Flowers.
