Children’s Author/Illustrator Laurie Keller Visits ISD

Laurie Keller, author and illustrator of numerous children’s books including Birdy’s Smile Book, Do Unto Otters and Open Wide: Tooth School Inside, visited the International School at Dundee on December 3.  Keller talked with students in grades kindergarten through third grade about her experience and inspirations, and read from her newest release, Arnie the Doughnut.  She shared behind-the-scenes details about writing and illustrating and taught the students how to cartoon and draw some characters from her books.

About ISD:  The International School at Dundee was authorized in July of 2003 as an official International Baccalaureate school.  ISD is one of only 181 IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) authorized schools in the US, and one of only a few elementary schools in Connecticut to receive the IBPYP accreditation.  ISD offers programs for students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
