Greenwich Women's Golf Club Prepares for 48th Season

The Greenwich Women’s Golf Club ( GWGC) will open its 48th season at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course on Thursday, April 10th.

Interested golfers should attend the evening meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Fairways Restaurant.  President Kaisa Newhams will present information about this year’s programs and explain the weekly schedule of tournament play.  This annual kick-off meeting provides an opportunity to meet other enthusiastic golfers, sign up for membership, and schedule a full season golf.

Tee times for GWGC are on Thursday mornings.  Members may sign up for the weekly 18 hole tournaments including our Swing Fore Hope Fund Raiser held August 15th which raises many for local charitable organizations.  A special provision exists for working women or those who have other scheduling conflicts.  Members can play the weekly tournament with another member Wednesdays through Mondays.  Our members can be any women over the age of 18 and does not need to live in Greenwich, provided they can score 125 or less.  The tournament season concludes with an Awards Banquet at the end of October. Last year’s season winners were: 18-Holer Club Champ Heidi Nolte; Runner-up Hsiao-Lien Boardman; Most Improved was 18-Holer Jo Chiappetta.
