ISD HOSTS TWO INFORMATION SESSIONS

Families interested in applying to The International School at Dundee (ISD) for the 2014-15 academic year are invited to attend one of two informational sessions detailing ISD’s International Baccalaureate program curriculum and application procedures and deadlines.  The hour-long sessions, which are scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 9:00am, in the ISD Café, and Monday, January 27, 2014, at 7:00pm, in the ISD Media Center, will be held at ISD, located at 55 Florence Road in Riverside, CT.  (NOTE: snow dates are Friday, January 10, 2014, at 9:00am; and Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 7:00pm.)

According to Teresa Ricci, ISD principal, “Studies have shown a strong correlation between what the International Baccalaureate program offers and what experts have identified as 21st century skills.  It also strongly supports the teaching of the Common Core Standards.”

The International Baccalaureate’s trans-disciplinary approach to teaching incorporates skills with concepts that cross all disciplines to develop an educated, whole person.  This approach also includes the teaching of character profiles, community service and the teaching of a foreign language.
