ISD Third-Graders Choreograph Ballet
Third-grade students at the International School at Dundee (ISD)choreographed and performed their own ballet as part of a long-standing cultural partnership with the Connecticut Ballet. This partnership, which is designed to encourage students to appreciate, explore and discover their creativity and to express themselves through non-verbal communication, supports the school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) unit of study “Meaningful Movements” by giving students a comprehensive understanding of dance. This year, the students’ dances were inspired by the theme of “people in our community.”
About ISD: The International School at Dundee was authorized in July of 2003 as an official International Baccalaureate school. ISD is one of only 181 IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) authorized schools in the US, and one of only a few elementary schools in Connecticut to receive the IBPYP accreditation. ISD offers programs for students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
