ONS Scholarship Awarded to Greenwich High School Senior during 41st Annual Greenwich Scholarship Association Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday, June 13, 2013, Michael Potros of Riverside, CT was presented with the ONS (Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Specialists) Scholarship during the 41st Greenwich Scholarship Association (GSA) awards ceremony. Michael, an 18 year-old graduate of Greenwich High School, will attend Rutgers University in the fall where he will major in Biology. He intends to pursue a career in medicine. The award will be applied toward his college tuition.
This year, the Greenwich Scholarship Association awarded more than $520,000 to 120 high school seniors. The sponsors of the awards included civic groups, local businesses, families with memorial awards and individuals providing scholarships to students from Greenwich schools for their first year in college.
Founded in 1978, the Greenwich Scholarship Association provides need-based college scholarships for graduating seniors living in Greenwich, Connecticut or attending Greenwich public, private or parochial schools. The mission of the all-volunteer organization is to match students in need with companies offering scholarships in order to further the educational opportunities of Greenwich students
