'Scouting' For Food — Help the Scouts Help Neighbor to Neighbor
Honorary Chair of “Scouting for Food” State Rep. Fred Camillo, Greenwich Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and volunteers will be collecting and organizing food donations from Greenwich residents for Neighbor to Neighbor’s Food Pantry weekend.
Greenwich Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will participate in the annual “Scouting for Food” drive by collecting bags of food from local residents or at grocery stores, for the Neighbor to Neighbor food pantry on Saturday, March 1. Scouts will organize and sort all incoming food at four drop-off locations and hope to surpass last year’s collection amount of more than 110 crates.
Greenwich Scouting is again partnering with Neighbor to Neighbor to help fill the increasing need for food for families in the area. During the first few months of the year donations to food pantries are not as high as during holiday times like Thanksgiving. Neighbor to Neighbor feeds more than 650 families monthly and offers a unique “Client Choice” Food Pantry, where clients do their own shopping at the food pantry.
