Sponsors and Mentors Empowering At-Risk Youth
Shepherds, Inc. is a nondenominational nonprofit organization whose mission is to reach out to at-risk inner city Connecticut youth, offering them a quality college preparatory education at a non-public high school with the introduction of a positive role model - a Mentor - who fills a void in their lives. Founded 16 years ago with five students, Shepherds has impacted 270+ students in Bridgeport, Danbury, Middletown, New Haven, Norwalk and Stamford, 90%+ of whom have pursued higher education, hailing from districts where the dropout rates soars as high as 54.9%
