Detour at Cos Cob Train Station Begins Monday

Commuters should plan on extra time if they're traveling to the Cos Cob train station area beginning June 3.

Cos Cob train commuters and residents who use Sound Shore Drive by the Cos Cob train station should plan to add extra time to their commute this week.

Beginning Monday, June 3 and continuing June 4, 5, and 6, Sound Shore Drive—between Sachem and Station drives will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for construction work at the Cos Cob power plant site, according to Michael Rosen, the executive assistant to First Selectman Peter Tesei. Rosen said last week that the town approved the closures on May 29.

Two Greenwich Police will be assigned to the detour detail and will allow traffic access to residences, businesses, and the Cos Cob Train Station.

A map with the detour route can be seen above.

Eastbound traffic on Sound Shore will have to head north on Sachem, then east on Station Drive to Strickland Road. Westbound traffic will head onto Station Drive to Sachem and head west onto Sound Shore.
