Enjoying The Sands Of Time At Byram Beach

Longtime Greenwich resident Bill Deery isn't the only fan of the town 's beaches.

Deery was among a couple dozen folks enjoying the sunny afternoon at the park where substantial progress has been made in repairing damage caused by Hurricane Sandy last Oct. 28. Many of the sea walls have been rebuilt, although the jetty remains mostly broken apart.

Thursday afternoon's low tide drew youngsters and their parents in search of shells and other seaborne treasures, as well as the requisite seagulls and egrets.

Deery tells Patch what is so special about this park on the western end of Greenwich.
