Getting Around Rye Ridge Will Get Easier on Friday

The Ridge Street bridge near Rye Ridge Shopping Center, which has been closed for reconstruction, is scheduled to reopen Friday

Written by Liz Giegerich.

The Ridge Street bridge that has been under renovation since June is supposed to open this Friday, Aug. 30, two weeks after the original target date of Aug. 16, Rye Brook Assistant Village Administrator David Burke said this week.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) project involved replacing the bridge deck on Ridge Street over I-287. Traffic has been detoured onto Westchester Avenue (Route 120A) and Purchase Street (Route 120).

NYSDOT will continue some smaller work on the bridge over the next week and is expected to be completely finished by next Friday.
