It'll Be Smoother Sailing for Boaters at Grass Island Marina

A crew from A. Vitti of Stamford spent Tuesday filling cement into the grooved boat rampant the Greenwich-owned Grass Island Marina.

One long-time Grass Island boater watched the workers and said the grooves were previously filled with rock which are washed out each year by storms. And between the rocks and the grooves it was a pretty bumpy ride when boaters backed their trucks and boats down the ramp.

The crew began their work at low tide Tuesday morning and were trying to finish as the incoming tide continued rising. High tide is at 4:57 p.m.
