Original story:
With the National Weather Service issuing a winter storm watch for the weekend with predictions of 4 to 8 inches of snow, some weekend events may be cancelled.

On Friday, the Boys & Girls Club Greenwich cancelled its annual pancake breakfast with Santa, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14.

"The Club has just cancelled the pancake breakfast scheduled for tomorrow, 12/14/13. As the weather is expected to be undesirable tomorrow, for the safety of all involved, the reschedule date is TBD," the club said in a statement.

And late Friday afternoon, the Greenwich Public Schools issued this statement, "In anticipation of the forecasted storm and after consultation with Town officials, District and School personnel, and weather reporting services, the Greenwich Public Schools have cancelled all school-sponsored activities for Saturday, December 14, 2013."

According to the NWS, snow will begin falling early Saturday and be mixed with sleet and freezing rain, continuing overnight into Sunday. Snowfall predictions are 4 to 8 inches with 10 to 20 mph winds and gusts of up to 30 mph.

According to the Greenwich Academy website, Saturday's performance of the Winterfest Dance Showcase, has been cancelled.

If you're planning to venture out for weekend events and programs, it's best to call ahead to make sure they haven't been rescheduled.
