Art Garfunkel to Perform Over the State Line in Armonk

There will be two performances: Oct. 25th and Oct. 26 at 8:00pm. Tickets are on sale now.

Music artist Art Garfunkel will be visiting Armonk in late October for a performance at the North Castle Public Library.

The performance, billed as an Open Acoustic Rehearsal, will include music and poetry from his book, according to Scott Jarzombeck, the library's director. It will be in Whippoorwill Hall, which is an auditorium that's used for library programming and outside events.

Garfunkel did not have an existing relationship with the North Castle Public Library, Jarzombeck explained. The idea for the visit came from his management, which contacted the library because it was looking for a venue. Garfunkel has performed in smaller venues before, Jarzombeck said.

Garfunkel will have two performances - one on Oct. 25 and another on Oct. 26. Both will start at 8:00 p.m. and the doors will open an hour beforehand.

Tickets first went on sale, at $40 per attendee, on Sept. 1 and are available through the website Brown Paper Tickets. People who need assistance with Brown Paper Tickets can call the site at 1-800-838-3006.

Due to a request from Garfunkel, photography, video and audio recording will not be allowed. People will have to agree not to cover the performances for media as a condition of purchasing tickets, according to a notice from the library.

The library is located at 19 Whippoorwill Road East in Armonk.
