Art Workshops for Youngsters

The Greenwich Arts Council is offering monthly art workshops for children.

The Greenwich Arts Council is offering a new series of monthly art workshops for young people in school grades 3 through 5 as part of its Youth@Art programming.

These workshops, which began on February 15, are led by prominent professional artists whose works are on display at the Council and GAC art educators. Participants learn about the visual arts, tour exhibitions in the GAC’s Bendheim Gallery and create their own works of art.

Art Saturday workshops are free and art materials are provided.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited so that all participating students can have an opportunity to work directly with the lead artist.  Besides drawing creative inspiration from current art exhibitions, each workshop session will focus on a variety of art historical themes and involve a range of media including painting, drawing, photography and collage.

The next Art Saturday workshop will be held from 2-4 p.m. March 23 Registrations may be made by email to Beth Bellemore at youthatart@gmail.com.
