Bob Dylan at Refurbished Capitol Theatre to Headline First Show

Show set for Sept. 4; tickets $65.

Bob Dylan is coming back to Port Chester.

The Capitol Theatre says today that the legendary musician will headline the first show at the refurbished concert venue when it re-opens on Sept. 4.

Dylan's web site also notes the show date, with tickets going on sale on Aug. 17. There's also a pre-sale ticket opportunity through Dylan's web site starting Monday, Aug. 13.

In the past, Dylan has used the Capitol for rehearsal space.

The theater is undergoing a multi-million renovation designed to bring it back to life. A has already been announced.

"It's a great gift for the Capitol Theatre and fans of live music," said music entrepreneur Peter Shapiro, who's leading the Capitol's revival. "It's going to give the theatre a lot of positive momentum from the beginning, and I think that is something that will benefit all of the shows that come after September 4th."

Port Chester Mayor Dennis Pilla cheered the news of Dylan coming to Port Chester.

"Wow, that's impressive," Pilla said. "That clearly shows how iconic the Capitol Theatre is."

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
