Greenwich Kids to Perform Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Jr.

The children of the perform Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, Jr. The brainy and beautiful Belle yearns to escape her provincial life...and her brute of a suitor, Gaston.  Belle finds adventure beyond her books when she becomes captive in the Beast's enchanted castle!  Dancing flatware, menacing wolves, and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, JR. This musical ran for 13 years on Broadway and features hits such as "Be Our Guest" and "Beauty & the Beast". 

This is the 3rd annual main stage production at the Boys & Girls Club.  The Theatre Program at The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is based on the belief that access to the Arts is integral to the growth and development of society.  This program offers performance opportunities each year to over 150 students annually.

The theatre programs are founded on educational pedagogy and emphasize creative learning in accordance with the standard arts and language arts curriculum in the state of Connecticut.  Students learn not only about the craft of performance, music, directing and composition for the stage, but language arts literacy tools, as well as confidence.

Self-efficacy is the cornerstone of this interdisciplinary arts program and through teamwork and self-monitored collaboration, participants are taught to set goals and work together to achieve a common end.
