Original story:

Some Greenwich fans of James Taylor might just be seeing 'Fire and Rain.'

All it took was five minutes to sell out the 5,000 tickets for the annual Memorial Day weekend music fest known as the .

Organizer Scot Weicker and his staff were dealing with the queue of more than 100 fans who began lining up in the first-floor hallway of Greenwich Town Hall at 8 a.m. Monday in hopes of being able to purchase a ticket at $50 each.

"We sold out in five minutes," Weicker said. Most tickets were sold on the GTP's website. But all was not lost for the Taylor fans at Town Hall. Online ticket sales opened at 9 a.m. Monday.

"We are going to honor everyone who is waiting patiently," Weicker said of the people who came to Town Hall to purchase tickets. "I wish we had more tickets. I feel bad that we can't accommodate more but there's a limit on the number we can accommodate at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park."

There were more than 100 people in the line that stretched down the hall and around the corner past the Registrar of Voters office.

"Last year we sold out in four days," Weicker said of the concert that booked Paul Simon as the headliner. Concert-goers were treated to a surprise performance by the every popular Dave Matthews who dropped by before Simon took to the stage.

"We were thinking it would sell out in about 24 hours—but we miscalculated," Weicker added.

Elissa Moran arrived at Town Hall at 8 a.m. said, she "can't wait" for the concert. "I've been there every year," she said of the concert event that began in 2011.

In front of Moran was Emma Eschricht said, "I always wanted to see James Taylor. He's on my list of people to see before he retires. I went (to the concert) the last two years and it's really fun."

For those who weren't lucky enough to purchase tickets for the daylong show that also will feature Blues Traveler—and who own a boat or have friends with a boat, Weicker said the GTP will be installing "a monstrer screen and speakers towards Indian Harbor for boaters to enjoy."
