It's Showtime: Greenwich SuperShow Set for Central Middle School

The curtains go up on The Greenwich SuperShow — featuring Greenwich public school students — next weekend.

Shows will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, and Sat., Feb. 1, in the auditorium of Central Middle School.

The SuperShow features more than 100 actors, dancers and singers primarily from Central Middle School. The extravaganza also hosts dancers from the CMS’s feeder schools, (Julian Curtiss, Cos Cob and North Street schools) actors from Greenwich High School, a capella singers from Colgate University and capoeira performers from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

For the uninitiated, the SuperShow is a winter tradition in the community and performed each year to a sold-out house. The 80-minute performance is one part drama, one part dance, and two parts comedy. The show has four entertainment-themes: prime-time television, Academy Award-winning movies, social media, and the best of Broadway.

And for an added entertainment twist the audience is invited to participate in game show style face-offs, where contestants win prizes and score points for their audience team, throughout the show. Even the team mascots come to life! Superman and WonderWoman unite to take on the duo of Batman and CatWoman.
