World Pizza Champion Bruno DiFabio To Be A Judge on 'Chopped'

The prize-winning pizza monger with restaurants in Old Greenwich and New Canaan will make his debut appearance on the Food Network's 'Chopped' on Super Bowl Sunday.


The prize-winning pizza monger Bruno Di Fabio who has popular restaurants in Old Greenwich and New Canaan will make his debut appearance on the Food Network's 'Chopped' on Super Bowl Sunday.

DiFabio is the owner of 10 artisan pizzerias around the country including ReNapoli in Old Greenwich and Pinnochio Pizza in New Canaan.

He was selected to be a judge on the cooking competition that pits four chefs against one another whose talents are tested as they prepare appetizers, entrees and desserts with ingredients from mystery ingredient baskets.

The episode with DiFabio, and regular judges Amanda Freitag and Alex Guarnaschelli, airs during the Super Bowl at 9 p.m. Feb. 2.

The Super Bowl episode, which also will be rebroadcast on Tuesday Feb. 4, will feature chefs creating pizzas, according to Pizza Today. "The hardest part was highlighting the positives and be constructive in your criticism," told the publication.

DiFabio is 13-time medalist in World Pizza Games / Pizza World Championships.
