August Admits Being Guilty of.....Being August! Hot & Humid With T-Storms for the Weekend!

Surprise! Your August Weekend Will Feel Like......August!!! Get Ready for a Hot & Humid Weekend!

Good Morning,

A ridge of high pressure is starting to spread out across the Northeast and also in parts of the mid-Atlantic states... This managed to suppress any thunderstorm activity yesterday afternoon across much of the region, and we believe it will also be able to limit these for most of today...

However, as this bubble of high pressure begins to weaken this afternoon, some convection (showers and thunderstorms) should start to develop over some of the higher terrain located well to the north and west of the big cities... Therefore, we should mention that in addition to it being very warm, or 'hot' and rather humid this afternoon with some sunshine, there will be a few widely separated showers and a thunderstorm later on -- and these should manage to drift into some of the larger cities around nightfall... But, any shower or thunderstorm this evening shouldn't last for very long and most places overnight will just be partly cloudy with temperatures in the 70s overnight...

The focus of our attention this weekend will be on the next, approaching front - which should be in pretty close proximity to the coast by early on Sunday night... Temperatures will be mostly in the lower-90s tomorrow with no less than partial sunshine... However, there will also be a couple of showers and a thunderstorm or two in the area, especially during the afternoon and evening...

On Sunday, the shower and thunderstorm activity should be somewhat more widespread, affecting many more communities before the day is through... It will be very warm and humid, with most temperatures in the upper-80s (still in the lower-90s in the hottest spots), and any thunderstorm that erupts on Sunday could bring some heavy rainfall and strong, gusty winds...

Early next week, there is still going to be a front located close by on Monday... Therefore, we're still going to allow for a shower or thunderstorm around here, although we can certainly envision how the afternoon and evening hours are rain-free, as long as this front can manage to move on...

Temperatures will be in the 80s on Tuesday with lower humidity, but it should become a bit more humid again during midweek...

Have a good weekend!!!

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
