Great Weather for the Next Two Days Around Fairfield County & The Sound Shore!

Nice Fall Weather to Start the Week!

Good Morning,

The weekend got off to a relatively warm start, followed by a cooler finish, as we had anticipated...

And, most of those showers and isolated thunderstorms did occur along the I-95 corridor early on Saturday night, which was an aspect of the forecast during the past 48 hours which also worked out pretty well...

Now, with a new workweek upon us, we're looking at a relatively tranquil pattern across the Northeast and in the mid-Atlantic states... There is an impulse of upper-level energy that is in the process of rotating through a dip in the winds of the jet stream over eastern North America (or, through a 'trough')...

But, while this is generating some clouds early this morning across parts of the area, these are mostly of the high and mid-level variety... And, even though there has been enough instability to bring isolated showers as well as some to areas downwind of the Great Lakes (primarily, from the shores of lakes Erie and Ontario all the way to south and east towards the Appalachians), we believe that these clouds will probably dissipate in most areas by mid or late-morning, leaving us with a fair amount of sunshine and pleasant conditions from midday onward... High temperatures should be mostly in the upper 60s and lower 70s (with those areas located south of the Mason-Dixon Line being the warmer spots, and those places farther to the north and in amongst the higher terrain being cooler)...

Under a clear sky tonight, most temperatures will wind up in the 40s in the typically cooler spots and the 50s in the larger cities...

Tomorrow, with a light west to southwesterly wind and plenty of sunshine, it should be a fabulous day with most temperatures reaching the low and mid 70s... Tomorrow night and early on Wednesday, the focus of our attention will be turning towards a cold front that is going to be moving towards the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states... It should generate a couple of showers and thunderstorms in eastern parts of the Ohio Valley and in areas surrounding the Great Lakes very late tomorrow and tomorrow night...

Then on Wednesday, most places east of the Appalachians should encounter some shower and thunderstorm activity, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours... But, southwesterly winds occurring ahead of this front will bolster our temperatures Wednesday afternoon a bit more, and most will peak in the mid or upper 70s... There should even be a smattering of lower 80s that will show up in extreme South Jersey, as well as in southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and across Maryland...

The 'compromise' between a wetter-looking European global model and the drier-looking G.F.S. would imply that the rainfall around here later on Wednesday and early Wednesday night should average around a tenth of an inch...

Behind this front, Thursday and Friday are looking fairly sunny and just a bit cooler... The pattern for next weekend looks rather muddled right now, but it does appear that unsettled weather could play a significant role...

We'll be following this as we go through the week... Have a good day!!!

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
