Winter Marches On This Weekend As NO Warmth On The Way for Another Week!

Mother Nature is stuck in a winter weather cycle.

Good Morning,

The ocean storm that managed to brush Long Island and some other coastal communities with a period of snow yesterday is now heading out to sea... Actually, it was still bringing a pretty decent slug of snow to Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard early this morning, but even that will be coming to an end by late this morning...

Therefore, we're expecting some sunshine today across the Tri-State Area, but there will also be a brisk northwest wind that will average 10-20 mph with some higher gusts... So, it will "Feel Like" it’s in the 30s most of the day, even despite some sunshine...

The weather will be dry around here for approximately 72 hours before we may be dealing with "the next storm" to emerge in the East... But, there still are some questions at this time — not only about what precipitation type there is, but even if the moisture spreading out across the East will be distributed in areas just a bit too far to out south... If that were to be the case, like the European global model is implying, then there may be a few periods of snow and rain on Sunday night and Monday that occur about as far north as central and southern New Jersey, as well as in southeastern Pennsylvania... But, a storm track that would bring precipitation 50-100 miles farther north would result in some snow, or rain — perhaps even a combination of both... The intensity of the precipitation at this time of year and what time of day it is occurring are critical factors in determining how much snow there can be...

So, it is possible that some folks could be waking up to a slushy, sloppy mess on Monday... But, because there hasn't been much of a consensus reached yet in the various forms of guidance, it is best that we only speculate about it at this point... It is certainly way too soon to be inserting snowfall accumulation numbers, if these are indeed applicable...

But, the odds seem to favor that Monday will, at the very least, be chilly with most temperatures no higher than the lower 40s...

It will remain chilly on Tuesday with some sunshine, and then temperature may climb to levels near 50 by the middle of next week...

Have a good weekend!!!
