A Musical Mix for March at The Capitol Theatre

A mix of soul, funk, blues and country music at The Capitol Theatre this month.

 

The Capitol Theatre opened March with the the jazzy, funky sound of Deep Banana Blackout and it will end the month with the rock blues music of George Thorogood and the Destroyers.   

Charlie Scopoletti’s Truth Concert and Charity Event is this Thursday, March 7. The Port Chester, NY native’s “perspective music” concert will help raise money for Imerman Angels, which connects cancer survivors with patients, and the Natalia Crespo Eirin Foundation, formed and named in memory of Scopoletti’s childhood friend who died of brain cancer at a young age. Scopoletti will be performing with a 12 or 13 piece band.

Melvin Seals & JGB, credited for helping to create “jam band music” will bring their mix of R&B, blues, funk, rock and jazz to The Cap on March 8 and 9.

“Soulful country” comes to the Cap with the Drive-By Truckers and Old 97’s on March 15. And the last March show scheduled is the bluesy George Thorogood and The Destroyers and the Slide Brothers on March 16. The Destroyers are best known for “Bad to the Bone,” and their chart-topping blues music over the last two decades.

  • Melvin Seals & JGB, Recreating June 12, 1990 at the Warfield: March 8 and 9
  • Drive-By Truckers/Old 97’s: March 15
  • George Thorogood and The Destroyers, The Slide Brothers: March 16

Visit thecapitoltheatre.com for times and ticket prices. Tickets for all March shows are still available. Shows generally start at 8 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
