Greenwich Chamber of Commerce Business & Culinary Showcase draws hundreds.

It was a win-win Thursday night for Greenwich-area businesses and visitors who attended the Business & Culinary Showcase at the .

More than 600 met local businessmen as they knoshed and sipped their way through the Hyatt's grand ballroom. The chamber organized the event as a way to generate exposure and interest in the businesses ranging from restaurants and wine shops to home improvement services, travel agencies, fitness centers and florists. Even the area's major utilities—Connecticut Natural Gas and Aquarion Water Co.; the pet adoption agency , and the had informational booths.

The Chamber's Executive Director Marcia O'Kane said the attendance exceeded expectations as visitors enjoyed "more than their money's worth." Indeed, for $10, there were limitless tastings with a global variety of culinary experiences including Chinese food by , Mexican from Lolita Cucina, seafood and pasta presented by , and Italian from Arrosto in Port Chester, NY.

There also were demostrations by a number of businesses including a tango performed by the and exercise workouts by the fitness gym.

Gauging the enthusiasm of both businessmen and attendees, O'Kane said the chamber plans to host the event again next year.
