Cake Boss's Greenwich Arrival Delayed
Construction work continues at the site where the Cake Boss's Carlo's Bakery will be located at 20 E. Elm St. in Greenwich.
Cake Boss star and cake designer extraordinaire Buddy Valastro makes the most difficult dessert project seem effortless.
But it seems that creating a commercial space in downtown Greenwich is taking longer than expected. When it was learned that Valastro was planning a Greenwich outpost for his Carlo's Bakery, locals couldn't wait for the announced "late fall opening."
They will have to wait longer, but how much remains unknown. Workmen are still transforming the rear of the former Greenwich Time building at 20 E. Elm St. into a retail space that also will include classrooms for Valastro's popular cake-baking and decorating classes, and be the setting for occasional episodes of Cake Boss.
When asked about the delay, a spokeswoman for Valastro said this week, "We do not have an official opening date as of yet, but we will be in touch when a date is set."
