Got Salad? New Restaurant Coming to Greenwich Avenue

The top of Greenwich Avenue will be going green as a new restaurant—Leafline Salad Co.—is expected to open later this spring.

Workers have been transforming the first-floor space at 41 Greenwich Ave. that over the years housed Sportif Ltd., an athletic equipment business, and the children's clothing store Rugged Bear. The second floor is occupied by Abby Taylor Fine Art.

"It's a combination of takeout and dine-in salad bar and cafe," according to Dana Jevarjian, a spokesman for JCS Construction Group of Stamford, which is the contractor for the project. The restaurant should be open by June, she said.

Leafline Salad Co. is planning a 47-seat restaurant that will employ about 20 workers, according to the general manager ad the company placed on Craigslist. The restaurant will serve salads, wraps and soups for lunch and dinner seven days a week.

"The design of the restaurant will create a rustic and earthy environment to complement the productthat is being served," according to the advertisement. The restaurant will have five topping and chopping stations and the menu is to include 20 dressings that will be made daily on the premises.

Leafline will be the second restaurant to open at the top of Greenwich Avenue in recent months. It was nearly a year ago that the restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill opened just down the block at 49 Greenwich Ave.
