The commission voted 3-2 against the plan for the all-new, 24-bay regional service center on Old Track Road, which was vigorously opposed by neighbors due to traffic concerns.

The Commission on Tuesday reportedly rejected on Old Track Road and convert its facility on to all showroom.

The commission voted 3-2 against the plan for the all-new service center, according to a report in the Greenwich Time. The plan was in the mostly-residential area, due to traffic and pedestrian safety concerns.

In a separate action the commission voted 3-2 in favor of the plan to convert the facility on Railroad Avenue to all showroom — however it needed a minimum of four 'yay' votes in order to approve the project.

Interestingly the commission proposed by commercial property owner John Fareri, including the construction of a 63-unit residential building at 16 Old Track Road and adjoining parking garage to be constructed on the abutting parcel at 33 Spring Street, according to the Greenwich Time report.

In addition the commission approved an interlocking plan by Spring Field LLC to enclose the ground floor of its retail/office building at 50 Old Field Point Road and eliminate the in-building parking. The building would then share parking at the 33 Spring Street garage.

The commission reportedly denied a fourth related application submitted by Fareri to rebuild Old Track Road, which he owns, to accommodate the new facilities.
