Hopscotch Celebrates its 20th Anniversary in Greenwich with a Donation to the Breast Cancer Alliance

Twenty years ago, Hopscotch opened its doors in Greenwich. Over the next two decades, Greenwich opened its arms to Hopscotch. That local support has made possible the salon’s longevity and success.

In recognition and gratitude, Hopscotch is celebrating its milestone anniversary with a $5,000 gift to the Breast Cancer Alliance. “When we began to think about local organizations with whom we might want to share our celebration,” said Hopscotch founder Hisao Oe, “the Breast Cancer Alliance was at the top of the list. We salute their hard work and unshakable commitment to the community.”

Hopscotch and the Breast Cancer Alliance have grown together in Greenwich: the BCA began its important work here in 1996, just two years after Hopscotch put down roots in the community. Both have thrived thanks to local support. And both share complementary missions: the BCA working to improve “quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer,” and Hopscotch helping men, women, and children feel their best by looking their best.

The Breast Cancer Alliance is just the most recent of many local organizations that Hopscotch has aided over its two decades in Greenwich. The salon is honored to have worked with Kids in Crisis, which provides emergency counseling and temporary shelter for infants, children, and teens, and Locks of Love, which offers hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. Hopscotch has contributed to the Greenwich Symphony, which has delighted audiences for over half a century, and has been an enthusiastic supporter of local schools.

Helping these and other local organizations reflects Hopscotch’s deep-rooted philosophy that a business serving the community should be fully part of the community, giving back to those who have been its loyal customers and friends.

Twenty years ago, Hopscotch introduced itself as “Connecticut’s New York salon.” A generation later, it is even more proud to be Greenwich’s hometown hair salon.
