American Red Cross Holding Blood Drives in Greenwich Sept. 12 and 22
American Red Cross needs donations to ease shortfall caused by Hurricane Irene.
Hurricane Irene caused the cancellation of nearly 60 American Red Cross blood drives throughout the Northeast. As a result, the organization is in the position of having to play catch-up. This is challenging considering its supplies were already low prior to the storm.
To make up for the shortfall of more than 1,500 units, the asks all Greenwich residents who can give blood to do so at the following locations this month:
- Monday, September 12, CB Richard Ellis, 2 Greenwich Office Park, Greenwich, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Monday, September 12, Temple Sholom, 300 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, 1:30 to 6:15 p.m.
- Thursday, September 22, Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Road, Greenwich, 10:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
As a thank you to donors, all those who come in to donate blood this month will receive a coupon for a $12.99 oil change and free tire rotation, redeemable at any Monro Muffler/Brake location.
