Car Rolls off Carrier Truck on I-95, Causes Gridlock

ConnDOT: Two lanes closed between northbound exits 6 and 7; traffic backed up for miles in both directions.

The Stamford Advocate reports that a car fell off a carrier truck on I-95 near exit seven, in the Stamford and Greenwich area, causing massive delays on the highway.

The accident, which occurred at around 12:45 p.m., has northbound and southbound traffic backed up for miles. The “right and center lanes are closed between exits 6 and 7,” according to electronic Connecticut Department of Transportation advisories. Northbound traffic is backed up to Exit 2 and southbound traffic is backed up to Darien, according to the DOT.

No injuries were reported.
