What's the deal with celebrities bashing ?

In a recent interview with the UK's Independent, indie film star and Darien native Chloë Sevigny reveals that as a teenager she berated her parents for "living amid such homogenized exclusivity" and that she has dubbed her hometown "Aryan Darien."

"I know they worked really long hours to live there, but I don't think I'd subject my children to that kind of upbringing," the Big Love actress told the Independent's Gerard Gilbert. "I don't think they realized the snobbery that happened in the school and how kids without as much money would be picked on. I was picked on... not that we were a poor house."

She dealt with it by experimenting with hallucinogenic drugs and cutting off all her hair for a Hollywood wigmaker, according to the report (much of the same background info can be found on Sevigny's Wikipedia page).

Sevigny reportedly spoke with Gilbert while she was in Manchester England filming for Paul Abbott's upcoming six-part drama "Hit+Miss" for Sky Atlantic.

Last week actor and Darien native — while not bashing Darien directly — cast the town in an unfavorable light in an interview with Anderson Cooper when he described how he got "revenge" on a former high school classmate who "bullied" him, by casually introducing him to Robert DeNiro and Katherine Heigl when they were dining at a local restaurant during filming of the comedy "The Wedding" in Greenwich last year.

Interestingly, Sevigny used to babysit Topher Grace and his younger sister when they were growing up in Darien...
