Fuel Report: Lowest Gas Price Around Drops to $3.73

Last week, the area's cheapest regular unleaded gas could be found at $3.76 per gallon — this week, it's down to $3.73, bucking market trends.
In Connecticut, the average gallon of regular gasoline costs $3.74, according to AAA's "Fuel Gauge Report," with mid-grade at $3.87, premium at $3.98 and diesel at $4.13.
Those figures mark about a penny rise over last week and steep rise over last month, with the week-ago prices for the same fuel at $3.74, $3.85, $3.96 and $4.11 — and the month-ago prices at $3.35, $3.47, $3.59 and $3.73.

Just one year ago, a gallon of gas in Connecticut would cost, on average, $2.92, with mid-grade at $3.17, premium at $3.25 and diesel at $3.17.
