Girlfriend Argument Ends with Arrest

Greenwich Police say suspect kicked in the door of his girlfriend after an argument.

 

An argument between a Greenwich couple ended with the arrest of the man on charges he kicked in the apartment door of his girlfriend, according to Greenwich Police.

According to a police report, the 22-year-old man, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief, following the incident reported just before 11:25 p.m. Jan. 23.

The victim reported she argued with the man and asked him to leave her apartment in the Chickahominy neighborhood of Greenwich. She locked the door after he left and, according to the report, she refused to let him back him into her apartment. So the suspect apparently kicked the door, damaging the jamb and frame.

The suspect "admitted to kicking the door but didn't mean to break it," according to the report.

He was held in lieu of $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
