Greenwich Selects AssetWorks for Fleet Management

Town is reportedly switching to Web-based software system for tracking vehicle maintenance and fuel efficiency.

The Town of Greenwich has reportedly selected AssetWorks fleet management software and automated fuel management systems to manage its fleet of about 500 town-owned vehicles.

The new Web-based system will replace the town’s current one and will provide additional functionality to make fleet management simpler. For example the system can be integrated with parts supplier NAPA's integrated business solution, making it faster and easier for mechanics to procure parts.

The software also includes an interface that allows technicians and supervisors on the shop floor to communicate with each other. What’s more it provides tools to help managers evaluate employee performance, such as dashboards that display key performance indicators. With this software, the town will be able to gain new efficiencies and costs savings with regard to fleet maintenance.

According to a press release, the Town procured AssetWorks’ FleetFocus software through the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), which assists towns with joint contract purchasing. AssetWorks has been a partner with the NJPA since 2010.

AssetWorks is also reseller of NetworkFleet's wireless in-vehicle technology, which merges patented remote diagnostic systems with GPS-based Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology. By integrating this product with FleetFocus, the Town would be able to track the whereabouts of any vehicle in its fleet at any moment, in real time, and also perform an analysis of each vehicle’s daily route to evaluate worker efficiency.
